East Alder Gold Project (Optioned to Canterra Minerals)

Presentation

Project Summary

This property consists of 30 claims in two licenses and two separate agreements, one with Benton Resources Inc., and the second with a private consortium (Unity Resources). The Benton property was acquired for an initial share payment of 1 million shares on signing and $1,500 in cash, with 500,000 share payments due on the first anniversary (issued) and second anniversary of the agreement. Benton Resources also retains a 2% NSR of which 1% can be purchased for $1 million. The Unity Resources block was acquired (fully paid) for 1.4 million shares and $5,000 cash.

On April 19, 2021 – Sokoman Minerals Corp. announced that it had entered into an option agreement with Canterra Minerals Corporation (“Canterra”) whereby Canterra can acquire 100% of the East Alder Gold Project which is contiguous with, and immediately northeast of, Canterra’s Wilding Project in central Newfoundland (see the press release dated April 19, 2021). Canterra can acquire 100% of East Alder by issuing to Sokoman a total of 750,000 common shares of Canterra and work commitments totaling $600,000 over a 4-year period. Sokoman will retain a 1.0% net smelter return royalty on East Alder, with Canterra having the right to buy down 0.5% of the royalty for $1,000,000.

The property straddles the Valentine Lake Shear Zone, an important control on gold mineralization in the region including the 5.0-million-ounce Valentine Lake gold deposit, currently under construction by Marathon Gold.  The Company’s flagship Moosehead Gold Project also straddles the Valentine Lake Shear Zone, northeast of East Alder.

To date, Canterra has completed $277,210.77 in exploration expenditures which include; soil and rock sampling, a lidar survey, an IP survey, and a few targets have been trenched. The results indicated gold-bearing veins in one area, but the grades of those veins have not yet demonstrated a clear drill target. There are a few more surface anomalies that warrant trenching and some IP targets that need follow-up ground truthing. Hopefully, a drill target will come out of follow-up on those areas.

Highlights

  • 30 claims – 750 hectares, now part of Canterra’s Wilding Project

  • 25 km NE of 4.2 million oz Valentine Lake gold project; 1.2 km NE from Antler Gold property 4.6 m @ 49 g/t Au (channel sample)

  • 2-km long gold-in-till trend with results to 82 ppb Au

  • Highest rock sample assay of 5.3 g/t gold (float) similar to Antler Gold style of mineralization
